Mike Wilson – Chairman
Mike is the Founder and Chairman of Ecosse Subsea Systems Limited. With years of experience in subsea operations, Mike Wilson brings a fresh and innovative approach to the challenges of working in this sector, being called upon for particularly technically challenging or commercially critical scopes of work.
A graduate of RGIT, Mike worked for UDI, NOS, McDermott and CNS before starting Ecosse Subsea Systems. Completing projects for CNS, Alcatel, S-SAM, CNR, Conoco Phillips, Bibby, Shell, CRC Evans amongst others, Mike’s reputation as a knowledgeable, experienced consultant has also led him to provide Expert Witness services in a number of cases. Mike is an innovator who enjoys developing new products and services that address subsea challenges.
Mark Gillespie – Managing Director
Ecosse Subsea Systems has appointed Mark Gillespie as Managing Director. Mark Gillespie has more than 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, holding senior technical, commercial and contractual management roles in PDi, Technip, CSL, GE Oil & Gas, Centrica and Talisman.
Mark Gillespie has impeccable credentials which will enhance Ecosse Subsea Systems reputation and add value to clients. He has a strong track-record of improving the structure and processes of global businesses resulting in significant increases in revenue, he has extensive Managing Director experience in the subsea business sector, and his technical and operational pedigree is aligned with the company’s focus on the oil and gas, decommissioning and renewables markets.
Maureen Petrie – Operations Director
Maureen Petrie is a highly experienced and well respected operations director with years of experience in the industry. A key member of the Ecosse team, Mo supports the day-to-day running of the business, overseeing and managing the operations function, as well as facilitating many of our engineering projects.
With a strong understanding of the energy sector, Maureen has a wealth of knowledge around subsea engineering, onshore operations, offshore, drilling, pipelines etc. Her philosophy of placing the right person in the right position has been central to the growth of this aspect of Ecosse Subsea Systems.
Keith McDermott – Commercial Director
Keith McDermott is the Commercial Director having joined the board in 2013 and has more than 25 years experience of working with high growth companies both domestically and internationally, across a multitude of business sectors. Before working with Ecosse he was widely recognized as one of the top strategic marketing consultants in the country.
Keith has designed, developed and delivered several award winning company development programs in recent years, and has been engaged as an expert advisor for private equity funded businesses on behalf of the equity network. His career to date has been balanced between leading a highly successful consultancy company and a portfolio of non-exec roles in the UK. Keith holds a BA (Hons) degree and an MBA and has extensive commercial experience at senior level.
Michael Cowie – Technical Director
Michael Cowie is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology. He has been involved in geotechnical engineering since 1987 with the last 16 years being associated with subsea engineering.
Michael’s subsea career originally focussed on detailed design engineering as well as seabed interaction. He has extensive and varied ploughing experience having acted as Contractor, Consultant , Client and Expert Witness on numerous Projects. His geotechnical positions led him on to Engineering Management through various positions in the subsea, oil and gas industry.
Iain Middleton – Commercial Manager
Originally from the Isle of Islay but now based in Aberdeenshire, Iain was appointed as Commercial Manager for Ecosse Subsea Systems Ltd. Prior to this appointment, Iain had a 30-year career within the oil and gas sector, mainly with major operator Shell and was responsible for the commercial strategy, planning and execution of a number of important onshore and offshore brownfield, decommissioning and greenfield projects.
Iain was latterly Supply Chain Manager for Shell projects in the UK, Ireland and Netherlands. He also has experience in working in Russia, Middle East and Far East Projects and although he may be new to the Offshore Wind Sector is looking to bring his Oil and Gas experience and track record to this sector.
